Ashley Judd stars as Becca Winstone, a retired superspy who is compelled to dust off some of her old skills -- like kick-ass hand-to-hand combat with would-be assassins -- after her eighteen-year-old son goes missing in Rome. A woman on a mission, Becca is forced back into the international-intrigue game against her will, but hell-bent on succeeding, with her son's life at stake.
This Paley Center for Media live event honors "Missing," the drama series about a former CIA agent's international search for her kidnapped son.
Tanner Stransky (staff writer, Entertainment Weekly) moderates the following panelists: executive producers Gina Matthews, Grant Scharbo, and Gregory Poirier; co-executive producer/cast member Ashley Judd (Becca Winstone); and cast member Nick Eversman (Michael Winstone).
The panelists touch on such topics as: Judd's perception of the current "golden age" of television and interest in the "irresistible" pilot; comparisons of Becca to the tough Jack Bauer of "24"; and the logistics of shooting each episode in a different European city.
Questions from the audience then lead to a discussion of the following topics among others: Judd's hiatus from acting and the "providence" of her return; the relatively low cost of filming abroad; and the show's commitment to a "physics-based show" with realistic action scenes.
