Atomic Shark is a 2016 disaster-horror film produced by the Syfy network. The movie takes place in Miami Beach and focuses on a group of friends and strangers who come together when a highly-contaminated missile is accidentally launched into the ocean, causing a massive radiation leak. As a result, the sea life in the area mutates, creating a monstrous shark that is highly radioactive, aggressive and unstoppable.

The story follows three main characters: Dr. Brooke Haskell (Rachele Brooke Smith), an oceanographer who is trying to understand the mutated animal's behavior and physiology; Dr. Bryce Ryan (Jeff Fahey), a scientist who designed the missile and is now responsible for trying to prevent a nuclear meltdown before the area is destroyed; and Nuke (David Faustino), a DJ who provides comic relief and eventually helps the others fight the Atomic Shark.

Throughout the movie, the team struggles to come up with a plan to stop the Atomic Shark from killing more people and causing further destruction. The shark's radioactive nature makes it nearly impossible to approach, and it is able to cause massive tsunami waves that threaten to flood the entire city. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the only way to stop the shark is to lure it to a nuclear reactor and try to contain its radioactive energy.

Despite the serious subject matter, the film balances horror and humor quite well. The acting is quite good and the special effects are impressive, especially given the film's relatively low budget. The movie also features some great cinematography, showcasing the beautiful Miami cityscape and the surrounding ocean.

One area of criticism for the film is its lack of character development. The story moves at such a fast pace that there is little time to get to know the various individuals who are trying to save the day. However, this is not uncommon for disaster movies, as the focus is often on the action and adrenaline.

Another potential downside of the film is that some of the action sequences might be too intense for younger viewers. Parents looking for a fun family movie night may want to consider watching something less scary and violent.

Ultimately, Atomic Shark is an enjoyable romp that will appeal to fans of both disaster and horror movies. It's a fun, action-packed ride that never takes itself too seriously, while still delivering plenty of suspense and excitement along the way. If you're looking for a thrilling, entertaining movie to watch with friends or family, Atomic Shark is definitely worth checking out.

Atomic Shark is a 2016 tv movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.5.
