After a disastrous experiment went violently haywire at work, which involved making a chimp more intelligent, Dr. Larry Angelo is forced to resign from his work. However, he knows that he is onto something brilliant and continues his experiment next door to help a human. His next subject, the borderline retarded neighbor Jobe, also known as the Lawnmower man because he spends most of his time on a lawnmower or gardening, becomes his first human subject in his secretive home science project. The experiment goes increadibly well as Jobe quickly becomes smarter. However, as he becomes more brilliant, he also becomes more dangerous. Larry quickly finds himself in a bind as his once mentally challenged subject becomes smarter than he is and attempts to take control of his experiment.
