The story revolves around a skilled ping-pong player who finds himself in a secret underground ping-pong tournament with the hopes of avenging the death of his father. The movie grossed $40.1 million and runs approximately 90 minutes. The plot begins with Randy Daytona in his childhood years. He is playing for the U.S. in a Summer Olympics tournament table tennis final. His nervousness escalates when his father tells him that he wagered on him, despite promising recently not to do so. His first match is against Karl Wolfschtagg, who is representing the German Democratic Republic. During the match, Daytona steps back too far and falls on the table head first, hence losing the match. His father is killed by a group of loan sharks who work under a criminal mastermind named Feng. Blaming himself for his father's death, Daytona retires from competitive table tennis. Nineteen years pass, and Daytona is now an adult working at the Pepper Mill Casino in Nevada as a ping-pong entertainer. After being fired from the casino, he runs into an FBI detective named Ernie Rodriguez who asks for his help in apprehending Feng due to illegal firearm dealings. He tells Daytona that Feng's secret jungle base is within the site of an illegal ping-pong competition, and Randy's invitation to the said event is a way for the agency to infiltrate and arrest Feng. With Feng being responsible for the murder of his father, Daytona quickly agrees to aid the FBI in pursuing and arresting him. Rodriquez further tells him that he will have to win ping-pong competitions in order to catch the attention of Feng's agents. However, because he hasn't been competing for almost 2 decades now, Daytona finds it difficult to bring back his A-game and loses his first competitions humiliatingly. Fortunately, he finds himself a master, a blind man named Wong.
