Walter Bard wanted Janet Bradley to pay $20,000 to help out her friend who Bard was taking advantage of. Bradley could only pay half of it. Bard was not satisfied. Later that evening, Walter Bard's body is discovered outside the police station. Janet Bradley was accused of Walter Bard's murder because her fingerprints were found on the gun. She said Bard was alive when she left him that evening. When Mrs. Bard learned about her husband's death, she was separated from him for months. She was waiting for the divorce to become final, so she could marry her lawyer.
