Bhai is a 1997 Indian action film directed by Deepak Shivdasani and starring Suniel Shetty, Pooja Batra, and Sonali Bendre in lead roles. The movie revolves around two brothers, Avinash (Suniel Shetty) and Anil (Pramod Moutho), who are poles apart in their personal and professional lives. While Avinash is an honest and hardworking police officer, Anil is a notorious gangster.

The story takes off when Anil is released from prison after serving a sentence for a crime he did not commit. Upon his release, he discovers that his life has turned upside down. His girlfriend, Sona (Pooja Batra), has left him and his younger brother Avinash detests him. Anil wants to start afresh and lead a righteous life, but his past haunts him wherever he goes.

Meanwhile, Avinash is assigned to catch an elusive drug lord, Vilas Tawde (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), who runs the drug trade in Mumbai. Avinash's investigation leads him to Anil, who has reconnected with his former friend and now Tawde's henchman, Robin (Ashish Vidyarthi). Avinash is torn between his duty as a police officer and his love for his estranged brother.

Things take a turn for the worse when Sona is abducted by Tawde's men, and Anil is framed for the kidnapping. Avinash is now faced with the daunting task of proving his brother's innocence and bringing down Tawde. He has to fight against all odds, including his own department, to get justice for his brother and capture the kingpin of the drug trade.

What follows is a nail-biting climax, where Avinash and Anil join forces to take down Tawde and his men. The action sequences are high-octane, and the background score by Anand Milind adds to the intensity of the scenes. The movie also has some catchy songs, including the popular track "Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai."

Bhai may not be a masterpiece, but it is definitely an entertaining watch for fans of the action genre. Suniel Shetty delivers a powerful performance as Avinash, the honest police officer torn between his duty and his love for his brother. Pooja Batra and Sonali Bendre also do justice to their respective roles.

The movie touches upon the themes of brotherhood, loyalty, and justice. It also highlights the corrupt system and the nexus between the police and the criminals. Bhai may not offer any groundbreaking insights, but it is a decent watch for those looking for a dose of action and drama.

In conclusion, Bhai is a well-made action film that showcases Suniel Shetty at his best. The movie may not be a classic, but it is a decent watch for fans of the genre. Overall, a good one-time watch for those who love masala movies.
