Blades of Glory

Two rival men's single ice skaters tie for the gold medal at the 2002 World Winter Sports Games. A large fight breaks out on the medal podiums and ends with the poor mascot being set ablaze. The two have their medals taken and are forbidden from skating again. Jimmy's father abandons him and later on Jimmy resorts to working in a sports shop. There he is eventually demoted after a customer complains and he refuses to listen to the complaint. After that he wonders if he will ever get out of this miserable time he is going through. A stalker of Jimmy's informs him that he could skate again even though he was banned. He would have to do couples skating. After going through everyone he knew in hopes of being able to compete again he could not find a partner. His last hope was Chazz the other man that was banned from skating. Since the regulations fail to state what gender the pair was allowed to be they would be allowed to compete again. Jimmy's coach talks the two into skating together as the first same sex ice-skating couple. The two are allowed again to skate and in order to win they are informed they would have to perform a highly dangerous technique that had only performed once and left a woman decapitated. Though it is dangerous they agree to try the technique. After a few mishaps with being kidnapped and a scheme to break the two up they put away their differences and begin their routine. Their opponent sees that the two are doing well and throws some pearls onto the ice rink causing chazz to trip and break his ankle meaning he can do his part in the Iron Lotus technique. They decide to switch roles without ever trying this out before and perform it perfectly without any further injuries and win.
