The Other Guys is an action-comedy movie that released in 2010. Directed by Adam McKay, the film stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and Derek Jeter, among others. The movie revolves around two police officers who are regarded as the "other guys" of the police department. The movie starts with the introduction of NYPD Detectives, Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Danson (Dwayne Johnson), regarded as the "Rock Stars" of the department. Both are extremely popular among the public for their exceptional work as cops. However, during a police chase, the two die while jumping off a building. Their death leaves a void in the department, and the city needs new heroes to fill the shoes left behind by the two cops.

Enter the "Other Guys," Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), and Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell). Hoitz is a former detective who is demoted to the office for accidentally shooting Derek Jeter during the World Series. He resents his demotion and is constantly on the lookout for any opportunity to prove himself as a cop. On the other hand, Gamble is a forensic accountant who is content with his boring life as a paper-pusher. However, he has always dreamed of an exciting life as a cop.

Hoitz and Gamble complement each other perfectly. Hoitz's aggression and Gamble's intelligence make them a unique team. They are assigned as partners to investigate a minor case related to the financial crimes bureau. This case leads them to big-time corporate crooks, who then lead them to a much bigger conspiracy that involves the Department of Defense.

The movie takes twists and turns and leaves the audience laughing throughout. The humor ranges from witty one-liners to hilarious physical comedy. There is also an underlying message of corruption and disaster capitalism, as the movie highlights how big corporations exploit natural disasters to make money.

Apart from the excellent performances by Ferrell and Wahlberg, the supporting cast is equally impressive. Michael Keaton plays the role of Captain Mauch, a police captain who works at Bed Bath & Beyond as a second job. Eva Mendes plays Gamble's wife, Sheila, who is too good to be true, and Steve Coogan plays the villain, David Ershon.

The movie is well-written, with a great storyline that keeps the audience engaged throughout. The action sequences are well-coordinated, and the humor is perfectly timed. The cinematography is also excellent, with the city of New York serving as the perfect backdrop for the movie's action scenes.

Overall, The Other Guys is an entertaining movie that will tickle your funny bone. While it may not be a classic like Step Brothers or Anchorman, it is still a must-watch for anyone who loves Will Ferrell's brand of humor, and for anyone who wants to see an action-comedy with a unique twist.

The Other Guys is a 2010 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 56 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.6 and a MetaScore of 64.
