Checking Out is a comedic look into the life of a famous stage actor named Morris who is soon turning ninety years old. He invites his three children to his soon to be birthday party where he surprises them with the shocking news that he plans on killing himself once the party is over, unless they can talk him out of it. Checking Out tells the touching story of Morris, who has reached fame, lived a full and long life, and just wants to stir things up in his own way. His three children are all grown up and have not seen or heard from their father in quite some time. When Morris takes it upon himself, going out of his way to bring his children together, the news that their aging father wants to commit suicide shows his kids that one person is no more important than the other, and nobody should ever be underestimated, whether they are old or not. This movie also shows the relationships between grown children and aging parents and the lengths some parents go through to unite their children once again.
