Watch Chithram

This 1980s Indian slapstick comedy was directed by Priyadarshan and stars Nedumudi Venu. The film was exceedingly successful upon its initial release; so successful in fact, that it broke all the preceding Malayalam box office records. The plot follows the life of a young woman, Kalyani, who falls in love with a fickle man whom her father forbids her to love. He disinherits her and when her husband-to-be finds out he dumps her at the altar. Her father feels bad about his decision and travels to visit his daughter and her husband-to-be as Kalyani scrambles to keep the fact that her husband ran out on her.
