Coffee and Cigarettes
- 1 hr 35 min
Coffee and Cigarettes is a 2003 film by Jim Jarmusch that consists solely of people sitting and talking while consuming the titular coffee and cigarettes. Eleven scenes are filmed in black and white as people tell their stories. Each scene features two people who disagree without becoming confrontational. There is no plot, and the conversations do not form a cohesive plot arc, though they touch on common ideas. Musicians Jack White and Iggy Pop are among the storytellers, so it makes sense that some of the more prominent subjects of discussion are the nature of musicianship and addiction, illustrated by the coffee and cigarettes.
