Naval Commander Sturm's obsessive jealousy torments his wife, Diana. After one of his outbursts, Diana wanders out into a street festival and encounters Lt. Sempter. The next day, Sempter arrives aboard Sturm's submarine as his new first officer. Over time Sturm's suspicions grow. As Diana tries to warn Sempter, Sturm loses control, leading to a deadly confrontation for everyone on board.
