Dr. Dolittle: Tail to the Chief is a family-friendly comedy movie from 2008. The movie is the fifth in the Dr. Dolittle movie franchise and is directed by Craig Shapiro. The movie stars Kyla Pratt as Maya Dolittle, the daughter of Dr. Dolittle, who has inherited her father's gift of talking to animals. The movie starts with Maya Dolittle finishing up her veterinary degree and being asked to join the White House staff as an animal doctor. Maya's father, Dr. Dolittle (played by Eddie Murphy in the previous movies), has retired to a secluded island in the Pacific Ocean and is now out of reach. Nevertheless, Maya accepts the offer and leaves her island home to serve as the chief vet at the White House.

Upon arriving at the White House, Maya meets President Sterling (Peter Coyote) and his loyal dog, Brutus (voice by Frankie Muniz). President Sterling is dealing with a lot of stress, as he is planning a conference with other world leaders. To make things worse, Brutus is acting strange and seems to be in constant pain. Maya quickly realizes that Brutus is not the only animal in pain, and she discovers that a group of animal spies is working to undermine the peace conference. To add to the pressure, the leader of the animal spies is Dr. Dolittle's arch-nemesis, Raccoon (voice by John Witherspoon). Thus, Maya must use her gift of talking to animals to find a way to save the peace conference and protect the President from the hostile animal spies.

Maya begins to talk to the animals living in and around the White House, and through her interactions with them, learns more about the plot to sabotage the peace conference. Maya's task is not easy, as the animal spies are always one step ahead of her. However, Maya's involvement with the animals is not limited to just the mission. She spends time connecting with the animals and gets to know them on a personal level.

One of the most significant moments of Maya's journey is when she comes across a group of bald eagles. In the movie, the bald eagle is the symbol of the American nation, and the sight of a bald eagle in trouble could potentially affect foreign relations. When Maya meets the eagles, she discovers that they are being mistreated by a group of humans who want to use them as entertainment. Maya immediately steps in and frees the eagles from the captivity. This action not only saved the eagles but helped her establish her credentials.

Maya's journey culminates in her discovery of the identity of the leader of the animal spies. She devises an elaborate plan to stop Raccoon's group from ending the peace conference. Maya's animal friends work together to help her, and the plan ultimately succeeds in saving the conference. In the end, the animals forgive Raccoon for his actions, and President Sterling is grateful to Maya for her help.

The film explores several themes, including the significance of family, doing the right thing, and making a difference. The movie is also a visual representation of the deep bond that can exist between animals and humans. Maya's interactions with the animals around the White House show that humans and animals can work together to make the world a better place.

Dr. Dolittle: Tail to the Chief is an excellent family movie that will entertain viewers of all ages. The film is well-directed, and the voices behind the animal characters are exceptional. The message of the movie is subtle yet powerful, and the movie is a great way to spend an afternoon with your family.
