Simran plays the role of a journalist named Janani, who is always on the lookout for a good news story. She is initially skeptical of Ezhumalai's efforts and thinks that he is just like any other corrupt government official. However, she soon realizes that Ezhumalai is a sincere officer who is genuinely interested in protecting the environment.
