Feds is a hilarious comedy from 1988 that stars Rebecca De Mornay, best known for her roles in Risky Business and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and Mary Gross, who is perhaps best known for her work on Saturday Night Live in the 1980s. The film tells the story of two unlikely FBI agents who are sent to a training academy to learn the ropes of their new job. Along the way, they face a number of challenges, including difficult instructors, tough physical training, and a group of rowdy male trainees who can't seem to take them seriously.

The two agents at the center of the story are Ellie DeWitt (played by De Mornay) and Janis Zuckerman (played by Gross). Ellie is a tough, street-smart woman who has spent much of her life working in a factory. Janis, on the other hand, is a college-educated, prudish woman who comes from a privileged background. Despite their differences, the two women are forced to rely on each other as they navigate the challenges of the FBI academy.

As they arrive at the academy, Ellie and Janis quickly discover that they're not exactly welcome. The male trainees are openly hostile to them, and their instructors are generally dismissive of their abilities. But Ellie and Janis are determined to prove themselves, and they soon begin to make progress in their training.

Along the way, they have a number of misadventures. For example, their attempts to do an undercover surveillance mission in a strip club quickly go awry when they attract too much attention. And their efforts to take down a group of counterfeiters lead them into a high-speed car chase through the streets of Los Angeles.

Throughout the film, the chemistry between De Mornay and Gross is excellent. De Mornay brings a tough, no-nonsense attitude to her role, while Gross provides comic relief with her wide-eyed innocence. Together, they make for a great buddy cop duo, bouncing off each other in a way that feels natural and believable.

But while Feds is primarily a comedy, it also has some serious moments. In particular, there's a subplot involving Ellie's troubled past that adds some weight to the story. We learn that she's been in and out of jail for much of her life, and that she's trying to turn over a new leaf by becoming an FBI agent. This gives her character some depth and makes her more than just a one-dimensional tough girl.

Overall, Feds is a lot of fun. It's a lighthearted comedy with plenty of goofy moments and likable characters. Sure, it's not exactly a groundbreaking film, but it's an enjoyable way to spend an evening. If you're a fan of buddy cop comedies like 48 Hrs. or Beverly Hills Cop, you'll definitely want to check this one out.

Feds is a 1988 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.5.
