The movie Flaming star features Elvis Presley and Barbara Eden as the main characters. This movie is considered to be in the western genre. Elvis plays the role of Pacer. Pacer has a Kiowa mother and his father was a rancher. He lives in Texas with his family and his half-brother. They have an ordinary life until a tribe of Kiowa people began raiding the homes in this area. Pacer is then torn between the worlds and has an internal struggle going on within. He has to decide if he wants to join the Kiowa tribe. He knows his family will be protected if he does so. He also has to decide if he wants to join the people of Texas. This is where he grew up, but siding with them is putting himself and his family at risk. He feels he does not truly belong with either group and is torn about what to do and the outcomes of his decision.
