Freddie Got Fingered is a comedy film that came out in the year 2001. It is about a young man who aspires to become a cartoonist. However his dream is hindered by a disapproving father who can’t stand him. Over the course of the film he is often being confronted by his father and gets into trouble with him. However he is eventually able to get a cartoon series sold to producers and makes $1 million for it. With the $1 million dollars he is able to live a privileged lifestyle along with finally getting his father’s approval. The movie got mediocre reviews and therefore wasn’t very well received. However it is still an intriguing comedy film and worth watching at least once for many fans of this genre. A young man is living at home with his parents. He is in his late twenties and works as a fast food restaurant server. He appears to be going nowhere and this upsets his father. At the same time he has a younger brother who works at a bank and is doing quite well for himself as he lives on his own in a nice apartment. The young man has strained relations with his father. However he decides to move to Los Angeles to become and animated cartoonist. Unfortunately he gets his cartoons turned down and therefore returns home. The father is very disappointed about this because he was hoping that the son would finally move out. When the young man comes home he often has very unpleasant confrontations with his father who is very disapproving of him. The father hounds him to get a job and become more productive. During this time he meets a woman and forms a romantic relationship with her. In order to impress her he often dresses up in one of his father’s suits and impersonates a financier. One day the father comes home and sees him in a suit and is happy that he appears to have finally got a job. However one night at a restaurant, the father discovers his son’s deception and gets very angry at him. Over time the son and the father go to a therapist to discuss their strained relations and the son tells the therapist that his father molests his younger brother. Shortly after this the younger brother is taken to a facility that shelters abused children. Meanwhile the young man puts together a cartoon and has it sold to a production company in Los Angeles. He receives $1 million dollars and finally gets his fathers approval.
