A remake of the original Friday the 13th, Marcus Nispel directs this story of Jason Voorhees is brought back in a more modernized light to the horror movie film genre. Following the story of Jason Voorhees and events that take place after a murderous rampage at Camp Crystal Lake in 1980, this story flashes forward 30 years ahead to a group of friends who are on vacation at the site. When the group stumbles onto a marijuana plant that is planted in the woods they decide to camp out and take ground there. Mike (Nick Mennell) and Whitney (Amanda Righetti) explore the area and stumble upon the campgrounds, while the rest of the group is settling in. Now an adult, Jason (Derek Mears) begins to murder the friends one by one. Jason kills each of them except for Whitney as she reminds him of her mother in her younger years. About six weeks later another group of friends go to a summer cabin near Camp Crystal Lake not knowing of Jason and his presence in the area, along with the murders he has committed. The group is ready and excited to have a nice time at the lake. Clay Miller whom is looking for his sister Whitney finds himself at the cabin where the group is staying at trying to enjoy themselves. A few from the group agree to help look for Whitney but soon find that their friends are getting killed off one by one as well. Realizing they are in danger from a serial killer, the group tries to keep themselves safe and out of the way of danger. What they do not realize is that Jason is relentless and will stop at nothing to revenge his Mother’s death.
