House II: The Second Story
- 1 hr 28 min
House II: The Second Story is the sequel to the original film, House. However, new audiences can come in without any knowledge of the first movie. House II is mostly self contained, and quickly informs the audience of the movie's world. Jesse, a fairly laid back but down to earth young man, has inherited an old house. Along with his wacky friend Jonathan, he decides to fix it up. The pair have no idea just how much they've bitten off when they begin the task. Instead of a normal house, this dwelling consists of a number of rifts through time and space. They quickly meet additional companions. This includes an adorable dog-like creation, and Jesse's undead ancestor. They all set out to discover the secret of the house and an explanation as to what exactly is going on with it. Along the way House II delivers up an even combination of horror and dark comedy. Additionally, fans of action movies will find themselves treated to some fantastic moments. And like many horror movies of the period, House II forgoes CG to instead make use of practical effects. The special effects are mainly accomplished through actual prop pieces and puppetry.
