La Caza (The Hunt), a Spanish psychological thriller, follows three veterans of the Spanish Civil War who reunite in Castile to go rabbit hunting. On a hot summer day that starts out innocently, the three middle-aged men drink, tell war stories and hunt rabbits. The veterans recount stories about the Civil War and the excitement they experienced as soldiers. This leads to conflicts as the veterans express regrets and berate each other for past transgressions, while lunching on their rabbit kills. As the day heats up, the negative intensity increases between the veterans, leading to violent and tragic results.
