The movie opens with Lakshmi, played by Nayanthara, struggling to make ends meet in her small village. She works tirelessly as a weaver to provide for her son, Chinna. However, her life takes a turn for the worse when her alcoholic and abusive husband abandons her, leaving her to fend for herself. Lakshmi is forced to move to the city with her son to find work. She comes across an advertisement for a job as a housemaid at a wealthy family's mansion. Lakshmi is hired and begins to work in the house. Here, she meets Chandu, played by Venkatesh Daggubati, a kind and compassionate man who helps to provide for the family. He also places her in a new job at a textile company where she begins to earn a livelihood. It is a poignant story of how Lakshmi, through sheer determination and hard work, is able to rise above her circumstances and provide a better life for her son. Venkatesh Daggubati delivers a powerful performance as the kind-hearted Chandu, who is willing to do anything to help Lakshmi. Nayanthara is equally impressive as Lakshmi, conveying the character's pain, struggle and triumph with great conviction.
