Lao Mountain Taoist is an animated movie made in China. It uses the animation style of stop motion-animated puppets along with ink paint. The film is based on the age-old quest of people trying to become immortal. The movie, set in ancient China, follows a young man by the name of Wang Qi. He is enchanted by tales of Lao Mountain, and the immortals that live there. Wang Qi goes to the mountain, where he finds a Taoist that takes him in as a student. The story covers his trials and tribulations living on the mountain, and the skills that he learns there.
