Tyler Doherty is an eight-year-old with big dreams for his future. But all those dreams are on hold for now because Tyler has brain cancer and is undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. And if that's not enough, his father has left home, and the kids at school make fun of how he looks after chemotherapy. Mostly, Tyler just wants to live like a normal kid, and, for him, that means playing soccer. Enter Brady, a drunken mailman, with all kinds of problems of his own. On a temporary mail route, he notices letters coming out of Tyler's house daily that would normally be marked "Undeliverable." These are the letters Tyler has written (and addressed) to God. Because of all the problems he is facing in life and having seemingly no person to share them with, Tyler chooses to write his thoughts, questions, and anger to the Almighty. And it is through these letters that the paths of Tyler and Brady cross. Against his wishes, Brady begins to learn more about the author of the letters and a lot more about how the intended recipient can truly change a life.
