The movie Liebestraum starts with Nick learning that goes to see his birth mother who is about to die. He did not know her until that time. He meets his old friend Paul who is demolishing a building that was the site of a murder/ suicide. Nick thinks the building is stunning and wants the chance to study it. Nick is able to find out more about his past.
