The year is 2079. Snow, a U.S. Government agent, is falsely accused of murdering another agent who had proof a traitor was selling secret information. He is interrogated and beaten, but maintains his innocence and even pokes fun at a guard named Ruppert. High above Earth, Emilie Warnock, the daughter of the U.S. President, leads a fact-finding party to MS One, the orbiting maximum security prison where the most dangerous inmates are kept in cryogenic stasis. Emilie wants to find out if stasis affects the mental state of the prisoners and also if they are being experimented on. During an interview with the prisoner Hydell, he steals a gun from Emilie's bodyguard and breaks free. Hydell then awakens his brother, Alex, and the other inmates from stasis. They take over MS One and hold Emilie and her party hostage. The Secret Service Director orders Snow to rescue Emilie. Reluctant at first, he agrees to the mission when he learns from friend and fellow agent Harry Shaw that Snow's friend, Mace, is on the station with information that could prove his innocence. Snow infiltrates MS One and locates Emilie, who managed to escape the inmates. The two make their way through the station and come to the medical bay, where they find Mace, who has dementia from his time in stasis. They try to board an escape pod, but a rogue satellite crashes into the station, knocking it out of orbit and killing Mace. With MS One plunging toward Earth, the Secret Service Director relieves The President of his duties, claiming he is emotionally compromised, and orders a strike on the station. Snow manages to rescue Emily from being raped by Hydell and finds escape suits that allow them to re-enter Earth's atmosphere safely before MS One is destroyed by a military strike. Back on Earth, Emilie realizes Mace's incoherant words were a code, which leads her to a briefcase with evidence that clears Snow and reveals Shaw as the mole. Snow and Emilie head off to begin their relationship.
