Lost A Girl is a suspenseful thriller film from 2015, directed by former US Marine, Andrew Papke. The movie follows the story of a wealthy couple, the Davenports, who have everything they could ever want - a gorgeous house, a loving relationship, and a bright future ahead. However, their idyllic life is shattered when their daughter Samantha goes missing in the woods near their home. Peter Benedict stars as Michael Davenport, a former cop turned private investigator who is brought in to find the missing girl. Michael is haunted by his own past, having lost his own daughter years ago, and is determined to use his experience and expertise to help the Davenports find Samantha. As the investigation progresses, Michael uncovers a complicated web of lies and deceit that threaten to tear apart the small community of people that Samantha knew before her disappearance. His investigation takes him to the darkest corners of the city, and the more he uncovers, the more he realizes that everyone has something to hide. Nina Hatchwell delivers a fantastic performance as Julie Davenport, Samantha's mother. She is consumed with guilt, believing that she is responsible for her daughter's disappearance - an idea that is only exacerbated by the harsh spotlight that the media and law enforcement have thrown upon her. Her husband, who is played by Peter Giles, becomes increasingly distant as the search for Samantha drags on. Natasha James plays Marita, a young woman who has a connection to Samantha and is one of the key suspects in the investigation. Her performance is layered and nuanced, making it difficult for the audience to discern whether or not she is trustworthy. What elevates this movie above other crime dramas is the amazing cinematography and direction by Andrew Papke. The film is shot in a way that feels fresh and innovative, especially during some of the more intense and emotional scenes. The tension throughout the movie is palpable, making it difficult for viewers to look away. Lost A Girl is a gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The performances from the main cast are top-notch, and the storytelling is both suspenseful and thought-provoking. It's a great movie for anyone who loves a good mystery, and it's well worth a watch.
