There's often a charm in small towns, but for Henry Warner (Tom Cavanagh), the small town charm is starting to wear off. After graduating from college, Henry has returned to his hometown in Upstate New York and taken up a position with his family's bank. Since then, he's become quite disillusioned with the town and the lack of opportunities for himself.

However, his plans for getting out of town are about to be put on hold when his mother dies unexpectedly, leaving him in charge of the bank. Then, on top of that, a new financial crisis hits, which threatens to bankrupt the bank and put Henry out of work. In an effort to save the bank, he approaches the town's wealthiest citizen, Esme (Bellamy Young), hoping that he can convince her to invest in the bank.
