Isabel is shocked she remains sad and depressed for a very long time. Each and every little moment which she had spent with her mother became fresh.

Isabel finally decides to pay her sick mother a visit at the family’s farmhouse situated on the Gaspe Peninsula. She is unaware of the fact that her mother took her last breath even before seeing her daughter. Upon arrival at the Gaspe Peninsula Isabel finds out that her mother is no more. She feels utterly helpless and distressed as she missed the last chance to bid her sick mother a final goodbye.

The farm is looked after by her uncle Matthew, who has grown old now. Hence, he requests Isabel to stay back and help him out with the farm.
