The story of the film revolves around Balarama (Akkineni Nageshwara Rao) and Suguna (Aamani), who meet each other and fall in love. However, Balarama’s mother (Rohini Hattangadi) disapproves of their relationship and arranges his marriage with Padmavathi (Ramya Krishna). In the meantime, Lord Krishna (S.V. Ranga Rao) appears in a dream to Balarama and tells him that he has to get married in order to fulfill his destiny.

As the story progresses, we learn that Balarama’s destiny is to marry a girl with a specific birthmark on her thigh, which is believed to be the mark of goddess Lakshmi.
