Metal Tornado is the 2011 science fiction suspense film about a huge metal-eating tornado that is created by an industrial accident that goes terribly awry. The movie was written and directed by Gordon Yang. The Helios World Corporation is conducting experiments to solve the issue of Earth's vast energy consumption. Although the experiment seems viable, there are some very deep systemic flaws that make it unstable. Scientists Rebecca Adler (Nichole de Boer) and Michael Edwards (Lou Diamond Phillips) realize that the experiment should not take place and could prove extremely dangerous if it fails. The company's CEO Jonathon Kane is shrewd and money-grasping and doesn't care about the dangers. Despite the protests, the experiment goes on as planned, and it quickly goes awry. A giant magnetic wave forms a powerful vortex that begins to suck up every piece of metal, humans and other objects in its path. The giant metal vortex continues to suck up energy and grow. It destroys the property and everything in its way as it moves along a destructive path. The scientists are now forced to quickly shut down the system before it wreaks havoc on the city and ultimately grows beyond their control. The giant vortex moves through the countryside and destroys everything in its path. It continues on to the city area and destroys trains, cars, skyscrapers, airplanes and everything in its way as it continues to grow in size and strength. The scientists work feverishly to find a way to stop the monster. While all of this is going on, the Paris site of Helios is planning to run the same exact experiment, which will create two of these giant vortexes. The scientists finally devise a plan to take care of the situation, but this plan to destroy it could be more disastrous than the vortex itself.
