Movie Movie is rousing comedy musical consisting of two different and distinct stories. Directed by Stanley Donen, the films include Dynamite Hands with a boxing ring theme and Baxter's Beauties of 1933, a comedy musical. Both films featured the husband and wife acting team of George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere. The film begins with George Burns narrating and informing the audience that they are about to see a double feature film just like in the olden days. He explains about how films were black and white back then and that only musicals were made in color. Dynamite Hands revolves around a poor young man, Joey Popchik who dreams of becoming an attorney one day. His sister is going blind and he gets into boxing to raise enough money to pay for her medical care and restore her sight once more. While doing this he succumbs to the seduction of fame and fortune. His sister does get cured and he rushes into law school so that he can become a prosecutor and ensure that villains will get their just due. Baxter's Beauties of 1933 is a musical about an iconic theatrical producer named Spats Baxter who finds out that he is dying. Because he must face his impending mortality, he wants to support the daughter he never got to know. So he decides to make one last Broadway musical that he hopes is a smash hit. A young actress who dreams of being on Broadway comes to audition for a role. It is found that Baxter's accountant is actually a very talented songwriter. However, the female lead is a haughty actress who nearly destroys the entire production. She is rude, drunk and reckless with the money for the show’s production. Ultimately, the new starry eyed actress must go on in place of her or the show will not go on. As a result, she goes on to become a star. She learns that Baxter is actually her father.
