Saturn 3 is a 1980 science fiction film about two space station scientists whose world is interrupted when a psychotic bureaucrat arrives at the station with his own ruthless agenda. It is in the future, and the Earth is vastly overcrowded and rife with turmoil. Thankfully scientist Adam (Kirk Douglas) and his assistant/girlfriend Alex (Farrah Fawcett) are happily living at the remote space station Saturn 3, away from all of earth's troubles, and have no plans to leave. Out of the blue, crazed Captain Benson (Harvey Keitel) shows up with a "company" robot that is put there to replace one of the scientists. Benson constructs the 8-foot robot he names Hector, which relies on human tissue to operate. What Adam and Alex don't know is that Benson is not who he claims to be. He tried to get into the program but was deemed psychologically unfit. He instead murdered the real captain who was to come to the space station and took his place. Since Benson is using his own unstable brain tissue as a link to Benson, the robot is also taking on Benson's psychological personality. Both Benson and Hector are lusting after the beautiful Alex and are determined to have her by any means necessary. After the robot malfunctions and kills Alex's and Adam's dog, Benson is ordered by Alex to dismantle the robot and take it back to Earth. After the robot is rebooted, it murders Benson when it sees him assaulting Alex. The robot also destroys Benson's ship before the two scientists can escape on it. Adam and Alex are now forced to evade Hector and find a way off Saturn 3. After being overpowered by Hector, Alex detonates hidden explosives he has on his body, which destroys both him and the robot. Alex is now free to leave, so she mans the remaining vessel and heads toward Earth.
