My Uncle Rafael shows how a TV producer will go to desperate measures to convince his uncle to be the star of a new show. The Uncle has to take a course in English when he immigrates to the United States because English is not his first language. The name of the uncle is Old American Uncle, and the show is reality based. The movie watchers then see a culture clash because Uncle Rafael does not fit into the Schumacher family household. He wants to be able to communicate to the family and other Americans, and so this is the reason that he decides to go to the writing course.

The Uncle is staying at this house because he has to save this family from falling apart. When he comes up with a rule, everyone in the house has to follow the rule.
