Naqoyqatsi, also known as Naqoyqatsi: Life as War, was released in 2002 and is the final piece of Godrey Reggio's "Qatsi" trilogy. The film mostly utilizes stock footage material to convey the shifts and influences of an increasingly modern society and the toll that it takes upon traditions and the ways of a society's predecessors. Naqoyqatsi is a Hopi native word that means "life as war." The film Naqoyqatsi follows after Reggio's film Powaqqatsi, which follows Koyaanisqatsi. Naqoyatsi and its two predecessor films are all art films dedicated to analyzing ways of life and how changes interact with those ways.
