Out Cold is a comedy film about snowboarders in Alaska. It features Jason London as Rick, the leader of the group of snowboarders and Zach Galifianakis as Luke. It was developed by the Malloy brothers who were a music video directing team. The focus of the group of friends is to have fun and party almost to excess. After the resort founder passes away, his son Ted is placed in charge. Lacking the same desire to continue providing the low-key characteristics to the town, Ted decides to sell it to businessman John Majors, played by Lee Majors. The film centres around Rick and his friends trying to keep the town as their own while John Majors begins to renovate the resort town, undermining the original founders intent. The group of friends believe that Majors changes will create a yuppie establishment and because of this define John Majors as the central antagonist. He fires most of the staff, with Rick as the exception since he displays the best characteristics Majors seeks in an underling. Though initially Rick reservedly accepts the status, his relationship with Majors stepdaughter and the help of his friends assist him in seeing things differently. As Bull Mountain is slowly transformed into Yuppieville, the snowboarders cause havoc throughout the purchase and redesign. Their antics ultimately prevail and Ted decides to revoke the contract. With Majors sliding away in a porta potty the group celebrates their success. Rick and Jenny look out over Hangman's Peak and reflect on their choices. Rick having finally letting go of his long lost love, Anna. The narration by David Koechners character, Stumpy, reveals that Jenny and Rick finally start a relationship together. Before the credits roll the film shows clips of snowboarding footage and bloopers.
