Planet Dead is a post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Kevin Hamedani and released in 2011. The film follows a small group of survivors who must fight for their lives against a horde of flesh-eating zombies that have taken over the planet. The story is centered around Sam (Charles Adames), a former medical student, and his sister-in-law Susan (Chynna Berry), who are fighting to survive in the deserted city of Seattle. Susan's husband and Sam's brother, Jake, has been turned into a zombie and is now one of the many dangerous creatures roaming the streets. The two must navigate through the city and avoid the zombies, searching for a safe place to hide and hopefully find a cure for the virus that has caused the outbreak.

As they go deeper into the city, they encounter other survivors including a tough ex-con named Hank (Anton Brewington) and a mysterious scientist named Dr. Sanson (Ronald McFadden) who claims to have knowledge of the virus and a possible cure. Together, they must fight their way through the undead hordes while also trying to survive the various dangers of the city, including other hostile survivors.

The film is shot in a gritty and realistic style, which adds to the tension and fear of the characters. The practical effects used for the zombie makeup are particularly impressive, creating a grotesque and terrifying image of the undead. The film also features a great soundtrack that helps to build the atmosphere of fear and tension.

The performances of the main cast are solid, with Charles Adames giving a standout performance as Sam, the unintentional leader of the group. Chynna Berry does a decent job as Susan, but her character is not given as much depth as the others. Anton Brewington provides some comic relief as the tough ex-con Hank, who has a heart of gold and becomes a valuable member of the team.

The plot of the movie is fairly standard for a zombie horror film, but the characters and their relationships with each other keep the audience engaged. The movie also touches on some interesting themes, such as the idea of family and the lengths people will go to protect those they care about. The film also explores the idea of morality in a post-apocalyptic world, as the survivors are forced to make difficult choices to survive.

Overall, Planet Dead is a solid horror film that will satisfy fans of the genre. It doesn't break any new ground, but it has enough scares and interesting characters to keep the audience engaged. The film is not for the faint of heart, as there are plenty of bloody and gory scenes that will leave viewers squirming in their seats.
