Famed novelist D. H. Lawrence has had a difficult time of it since protesters decided to burn his latest novel, "The Rainbow." He and his wife Frieda opt for a geographic cure, deciding to move to the United States and then Mexico, where he is diagnosed with tuberculosis. The couple decides to go back home to England, but they soon find themselves journeying to Italy, where they can rest and recover and the writer can work on his latest book. His own experiences will help to inform his writing of "Lady Chatterly's Lover," which is destined to be a classic.
