King Lear is a made for television movie based on the famous Shakespeare play with the same name. King Lear was once a very powerful King, but with his age has grown very tired of his kingly duties. He splits his kingdom to his daughters, giving the best proportions to the daughter who has shown him the most love and appreciation through monetary value or even fake kindness. His youngest daughter, Cordelia, refuses to cooperate. King Lear banishes her and instead of his other daughters showing remorse they begin plotting on how to overthrow their father and take all of his money and power. This movie shows the tragedy that happens when you place emphasis on the wrong attributes of people, including in familial relationships and showcases this downward spiral that happens to King Lear. King Lear is an adaptation that remains true to the written words and meaning that Shakespeare penned so many years ago.
