Remember the Titans is a great movie based on a true story. It takes place back in the days of the Civil Rights Movement. The high schools are to be integrated. There were many back then who weren't too fond of it. One high school was to be the first in the area. The football team was a team that went places. They were successful. The coach was thinking that this would be the year that he would go down in the Hall of Fame. However, the NAACP wanted a coach who was black to make it fair and then have the coach at the time to step down as assistant coach so you had a white coach and a black coach. The coaches reluctantly agreed. The white boys only wanted to play for the white coach. The black boys wanted to play with the black coach. The coaches had to learn how to work together as did the boys. The family of the players had to learn how to accept the new teammates. The coaches had their daughters playing together. The team went to camp and learned how to play together and warm up together. They became united, but that unity was tried when they went to school. The captains had to break fights and other things of the matter. The society didn't like the two races being together. Things were going well for a while. The team was playing together. Even though the captain's girlfriend left him, they got rid of one team member who couldn't get past the past. After the boys won a very special game, everyone went their own way. Some went out to eat, but were declined a seat due to the fact that they had African American players. Even the white boys who were new were getting this sort of treatment as one was obese and one was a hippie looking player. The captain was out driving home when he was hit by a car and paralyzed. The team started looking out for one another and each game was played like it was their last. The team bonded together and sacrifices were made. The house of the coach was vandalized. The now assistant coach forfeited his chance at a great honor. However, everyone overcame that.
