Saaho is a 2019 Indian action thriller movie directed and written by Sujeeth. It stars Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff in lead roles. The movie starts with the assassination of the powerful crime lord, Roy (Jackie Shroff), in Mumbai, and his son Vishwak (Arun Vijay) taking over his empire. Soon after, an unidentified thief (Prabhas) steals two black boxes that Vishwak wants at any cost, beginning a cat-and-mouse chase between the two.

The thief, who is also known as "The Wolf," is introduced as a man of few words and seemingly impossible skill, capable of evading and overcoming anyone who stands in his way. He is later revealed to be an undercover cop, who works with a fictitious ID named Ashok Chakravarthy. He is sent to infiltrate Vishwak's empire and expose their illegal operations. Meanwhile, a crime branch officer, Amritha Nair (Shraddha Kapoor), is on the hunt for the thief and gets tangled up in the mess when her team is tasked with protecting one of the boxes.

As the plot thickens, the storyline moves from Mumbai to a fictional city called Waaji, where the rest of the story plays out. The plot of the movie revolves around the power struggle within Vishwak's empire, leading to a high-stakes game of deception and deceit. The twist and turns in the plot, though a little convoluted, manage to hold the viewer's attention.

The action sequences, which play a pivotal role in the movie, are a visual treat, and the accompanying soundtrack only adds to the adrenaline rush. The movie boasts of some high-octane car chases and a breathtaking fight scene on the side of a skyscraper. The cinematography and special effects are top-notch, making the movie a treat to watch, especially on the big screen.

Prabhas' acting, as always, is commendable, and he manages to pull off the role of the suave and confident undercover agent. Shraddha Kapoor plays the role of a tough cop with conviction, albeit bearing a slight resemblance to most Bollywood police role tropes. Jackie Shroff also delivers an impressive performance as the ruthless crime lord, though his role is limited in the movie.

The supporting cast members, including Chunky Pandey, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Mandira Bedi, all perform their roles with conviction, making the movie an ensemble effort.

While the movie does have its pluses, there are a few shortcomings as well. The convoluted plot and the multitude of plot twists can be too much to keep up with at times, and the character development leaves a little to be desired. The movie also has an unnecessary item number, which seems shoehorned in only for the sake of it, adding nothing to the plot.

The movie's overall length also works against it, as it drags towards the end, with a few unnecessary scenes that could've been edited out. Saaho's script is filled with action, suspense and thrill, but it takes a while to reach the final big twist. The movie is a good watch for action buffs and fans of the lead actors, but those looking for a deeper storyline may find the pace and excessive action overwhelming.

Overall, Saaho is a thrilling action movie that offers a visual spectacle with a decent storyline, a talented cast, and some high-octane action. The movie is worth watching for its impressive visuals and action sequences, making it a treat for fans of the genre.

Saaho is a 2019 action movie with a runtime of 3 hours. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.0.
