Watch Salt of the Earth

The key action in this American drama centers around a group of miners who work in Zinc Town, New Mexico. These Mexican miners go out on strike in an effort to improve their pay to match that of Anglo miners doing the same work, in addition to improving health and safety conditions. Ramon Quintero is one of the main organizers of the strike action, although he doesn't believe in allowing his wife Esperanza to be his equal at home. When a court injunction forces the men to call off the strike, Esperanza leads the women in joining the picket lines.
