"Sargam" is a Hindi film about a young woman who was born a deaf-mute. Her step-mother abuses her and tries to sell her to an older man. The deaf-mute runs away from home and is befriended by a musician. He takes her in and helps her become a dancer. She falls in love with him, but she wonders if he will really accept and love her back.
