Some repressed memories cause Sarah to hallucinate that an intruder is in the house. Polaroid pictures that don't make sense are found throughout the house. John tries to hide some of the pictures, claiming Peter doesn't know how to clean up after himself. Loud noises scare Sarah. She runs into a room, and her father falls from behind some curtains with a gash to the head. Blood is everywhere, and Sarah thinks her father is dead.
Sarah is finally able to escape the house, and she runs to the road where Peter drives by in a truck. He picks her up and insists on driving back for John. While he is in the house, the intruder attacks the car with Sarah locked inside. She bursts from the car and runs into the house. Inside the house, Sarah has more repressed images of a little girl who was abused in a sexual manner. It turns out that her father and uncle were the abusers. The memories are clear for Sarah, and she attacks both men with the sledgehammer. She leaves the two men inside and walks away from the house, and the past, with blood all over her.
