Romy is a woman who has had enough of abusive relationships and squelched dreams. While on vacation in the California desert, she sees an opportunity to break free from an endless cycle of broken relationships and untenable circumstances. The allure of the desert, a good car, and a place filled with interesting people, counter her dwindling interest in continuing a thinly-stretched marriage. As she makes a break for life in a strange part of the country, she encounters unique individuals who spark memories that were long forgotten in the decades leading to her personal renaissance. An uncommonly kind policeman, a poor single mother, and a rough, but compassionate and handsome cowboy contribute to her reawakening as a person with unfulfilled dreams and strong desires. The life with her demanding French husband is now put into a tailspin through contact with people who remind her of what truly blessed living is all about.
