Watch Stand and Deliver

This movie starts with a group of kids who never thought they would be able to go to college. They have what it takes for an excelled math class. However, the idea of getting good enough grades on the SAT math section is something that they believe are far out of their reach. The school they attend is said to have the lowest graduation rates. Therefore, the school decided to create a group for students who have what it takes, but might not get the chance to attend college in which to prep them for this test.

It took one teacher to do just this. He didn't just want students, but he wanted committed students. He believed in each and every one of them, but demanded only the best from them. He made them sign contract and instructed that they studied even outside of class together. When they took the exam, the state concluded that they cheated due to right answers. They retook the test under huge scrutiny to learn that the students didn't cheat.
