Strange Wilderness produced by Adam Sandler's company follows a comedic look at a couple of desperate animal lovers, Peter and Fred who have their own nature show, "Strange Wilderness". They both will go through any length to desperately save the show from going off the air. The adventure begins with their trip to the Andes mountain to find the legendary Bigfoot. They both strongly believe this hunt will boost ratings because of the audience brewing curiosity from week to week. Unfortunately the audience had shown distaste for their not so popular nature show, making the ratings plunge which resulted in a threatening cancellation notice from head office. Peter reluctantly begins his journey to save the show in a desperate attempt to gain a fan base. The misadventures continue with the mysterious and quirky search for Bigfoot that he truly believes will be a great way to make a comeback on the air. Audiences may enjoy the main character, Peter Gaulke played by Steve Zahn who is addicted to smoking pot and going through odd scenarios in order to keep his nature show afloat. When Gaulke threatened to be fired by the boss of the network and the show faced a point of near cancellation, the audience may ponder at what Gaulke's turning point will be. The film's witty dialogue and unexpected turns will leave audiences wondering how it will all end. Can Gaulke's show actually survive with a deranged, intoxicated crew going on a quest for Bigfoot? The audience may laugh at the hilariously exaggerated feats that Peter and his crew undergo to keep the show alive. The film is surprisingly written by the comedy writers from Saturday night live, whose real names are Peter Gaulke and Fred Wolf. It is written with a similar type of humorist approach that the audience will quickly recognize as they follow Peter and the camera crew on their nature journey and broadcast blunders.
