In a strange and wondrous kingdom, everything and everyone is pointed. that is, everyone except a young boy named Oblio. Instead of a pointy head, Oblio has a round head. While Oblio is still popular, even though he is different, a count is angry that Oblio is more popular than his son. To make things better, he proclaims that Oblio is an outlaw because he does not have a pointy head.
