Chakraborty is a Hindu refugee who fled from Pakistan in the late 1940s. He and his little sister decide to make the journey to West Bengal in order to start a new life together. While they are at a refugee camp they spot a little boy who is seemingly helpless. His mother is being taken away against her will, and as a result Chakraborty decides to help the young orphan by taking him in. He raises the little boy and eventually he grows to work in a factory. However, Chakraborty is shocked to discover that the little boy is beginning a relationship with his sister.
