Oscar winning Spanish director Pedro Almodovar brings to life a controversial and visually striking film, Talk to Her. The film is known to Spanish audiences as Hable con Ella. Two men form an unusual friendship after meeting at a movie. They later discover that they are both caring for two women, both in comas, at the same hospital. Benigno is a nurse at a clinic who comes from an unhealthy home life. His overbearing mother contributes to Benigno's inability to recognize when he's gone too far with a patient. His favorite patient, Alicia, has been in a coma for six years. In reality, Benigno knew Alicia even before she became his patient, for he was stalking her. Marco is a hardened journalist who is married to a famous, female bullfighter who is mauled by a bull. She ends up in the same clinic as Alicia, where Marco visits her on a regular basis. Through his visits, Marco and Benigno strike up an unlikely friendship. At the heart of the story are two men in love with two women who no longer have a choice in whether they can love these men back until a shocking act by Benigno brings Alicia out of her coma to the surprise of her life.
