On Christmas in 1970 Madrid a pregnant young prostitute called Isabel gives birth to a baby boy while on a bus. Twenty years later her son is a young loner named Victor who is obsessed with a woman named Elena, who is more interested in drugs than in him. Victor's impulsive nature lands him in prison for several years after an altercation with the police, and when he gets out he seeks out Elena again only to find things have become even more complicated.
